List of Names of Masonic Impostors and other undeserving persons, who make a practice of habitually seeking assistance from the Almoners' Funds in different parts of the country.
Published 1902.

A unique book compiled by an Almoner of a number of Masonic Lodges in an effort to thwart the activities of a number of men who travelled the country soliciting alms from the Brethren.
It includes letters and extracts from the journals Freemason and the Freemason's Chronicle.
A list of names of people fraudulently claiming alms and those "unworthy" of relief.
There are numerous reports of trials of such people and a list of prosecutions with a number of photographs of the convicted men.

Infants in Workhouses (Ireland)

Published in 1879.

Local Government Board, Dublin Return with Christian & Surname of each of infants born in Irish workhouses, or admitted when healthy under 12 months old, and attempted to be reared therein during 1872, showing what has since become of them (Discharged, Healthy, Dead, In Hospital, Taken out by friends, etc.).
Also a similar return of healthy infants under 12 months old who were sent out to nurse in 1872 by the Board of Guardians in Ireland, and attempted to be reared in homes of foster parents

This cd contains the full returns arranged by Union Workhouse plus the summary.

Poor Law (Mary Brophy).

Published in 1863

Poor Law Board, Whitehall, a copy of all papers and correspondence regarding the case of Mary Brophy, a pauper, removed from London, by force, and sent to Dublin, and afterwards returned to London by the ship 'Adelaide'.
Mary Brophy, with two children , of Irish descent who had lived in Marylebone for twenty years, was forcibly discharged from the Marylebone Workhouse and sent to the South Dublin Union.
