These transcripts of the Parish Registers include an early register that was not accounted for in the Parliamentry Returns of 1834. It was thought this early register had been lost.
The inclusion of a name index makes this register a useful addition to all researchers of the Parish of Chislet

Returns "from each workhouse in England & Wales, of the name of every adult pauper in each workhouse who has been an inmate of the workhouse during a continuous period of five years; stating the amount of time that each of such inmates shall have been in the workhouse, and the reason assigned why such persons are unable to maintain themselves:"

Testamenta Cantiana :
a series of extracts from fifteenth and sixteenth century wills relating to church building and topography.

The book is divided into two sections, West Kent, by Leland L. Duncan, M.V.O., F.S.A. published in 1906 and East Kent, by Arthur Hussey, published in 1907.
Both sections detail the contributions, given in wills to the various churches.
These bequests include money for the fabric and fittings of the church, monuments, ornaments and miscellanious other bequestsincluding those for ;
Church ales, Parish Clerk, Yew Trees, Shoes, Roads, Almshouses etc.
